Helen is the Deputy Head of Digital, Data and Informatics in the Science Directorate at the Natural History Museum, London, and is responsible for the digitisation of the NHM’s collection of some 80 million items, including national and international discussions on natural sciences data publication, standards and impact. Natural science collections underpin research on topics from climate, evolution and conservation to health, food, fresh water and invasive species.
Prior to joining the Museum in 2016, Helen held a wide range of roles in HM Revenue & Customs and HM Treasury, including digital programme and project leadership working closely with the Government Digital Service; work to champion the needs of business and accountancy customers; and tax policy.
Helen also takes a keen interest in skills and competencies in heritage collections, and is a trustee of the Kirkgate Arts & Heritage centre in Cockermouth.
